Hello and thank you for visiting my website!

I offer New Yorkers an artistic approach to children’s photography.  My initial work and training was as a fine artist and portrait painter, but I discovered the art of photography once my two children were born. My work is informed not only by my love for children, but also by my sensibility to light, composition, and facial expressions gained as an artist. I am inspired by the wonder seen through children’s eyes and by the magic that sunlight brings. I strive to capture the beautiful and precious moments of childhood and have two amazing children who continually inspire me. They are now 12 and 14 (time flies!!!) and we live on the UES.

I was born and raised in California, primarily in the Bay Area. In high school my family moved to Maui, Hawaii which was an amazing experience! I went to Macalester College in St. PauI, Minnesota and majored in fine art and double minored in dance/theater and creative writing. I started my art career in high school, designing handmade greeting cards and selling them to children’s toy and bookstores. In college, I worked part-time as a greeting card designer for Mara-Mi and also as a Christmas ornament designer/sculptor.

After college, I started doing portrait commissions of children while I worked as an assistant preschool and kindergarten teacher and taught ballet to children. During all of this time (and since the age of 4) I was also training as a dancer, my other passion! I decided to take the plunge and move to NYC to pursue a career in dance and musical theater. I worked for many years auditioning and performing as a dancer and also worked as an actress doing tv commercials, print work, and some tv shows and movies. I also continued to take painting classes and studied at the Arts Students League under renowned artist, Nelson Shanks, as well as at the New York Academy of Art. I started photography professionally in 2016 after doing it for fun for many years.

I am also a newborn photographer at Lenox Hill for Bella Baby Photography, a nation-wide company. I have worked at Lenox Hill since 2017, photographing over 2150 newborns in the hospital and private homes on my own. My clients always comment on my infinite patience with babies and children of all ages. I’ve completed newborn baby safety training specific to photography and am also up to date on all vaccinations in accordance with hospital policy.
